ABOUT ABOUT

Whether you’re a freelancer, contractor, small business owner, or aspiring entrepreneur, gaining a steady stream of business can sometimes feel like a daunting task. As business owners and branding experts, Debora Charmelus and Melissa Alam know how isolating this feeling can be, so they've created this workshop to empower others through the knowledge that they’ve gained during their years fostering a roster of clients. During this hour-long event, these freelance professionals will teach you steps you can take to make yourself more competitive, guide you through defining your ideal client and help you craft your "client commandments". Not only will you leave with a better understanding on how to secure clients for your service-based business but all who attend will receive an exclusive, physical worksheet designed by Melissa and Debora filled with the tips they use to find and retain clients. Ten tickets will given away at no cost to women of color.

Melissa Alam is a multi-passionate entrepreneur, brand strategist and photographer. She works with creative entrepreneurs and bold brands to create, design and execute strategies that increase sales, gain more exposure and inspire communities. Debora Charmelus is an undefined creative who cultivates meaningful connections through digital storytelling. A jill of all trades, Debora specializes in assisting national and local small businesses with a focus in hospitality, food, retail, and fine art.

Your ticket doubles as a reservation at Bok Bar from 5pm-6:15pm. Attendees can order food and drink a la carte. Masks are required at all times except when seated at your table. This event will be postponed in inclement weather.
